Memory Café 10AM

This support group is open to all those who have cared for a loved one with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia. This group meets once a month at the Alzheimer's Alliance Saturday at 10AM. A brunch style meal will be served. Followed by a breakout session for caregivers. Caregivers will have the opportunity to share their experience with other caregivers who understand the hardships of caregiving. Caregivers will have access to our resource library and education materials as well. Please call and RSVP the Thursday prior. 903.223.8021

Our Memory Café is targeted for caregivers and those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The purpose is to provide an environment where caregivers and loved ones can enjoy socializing with others that relate to their struggles. This program will exist to support, encourage and provide friendships and resources to caregivers. Our Goal is to reduce the isolation that accompanies being a caregiver.

The Memory Café will be a one-of-a-kind experience, giving caregivers the opportunity to socialize and learn in the same setting. It is our hope that as each month passes, our caregivers become more comfortable in our café setting, where they can relax with their loved one, in addition to coming together with other caregivers to learn from each other.

The Memory café will start off with a brunch style meal, special activities for caregivers and their loved ones to participate together. A “breakout session” for the caregiver to discuss the different topics related to caregiving for Alzheimer’s and dementias will conclude this event.
