What is Our Place Day Respite Center?
Respite refers to a short time of rest or relief. Our Place provides a break from the typical care routine allowing the caregiver some down time while the person with Alzheimer's or dementia-related disorders continues to receive care from qualified individuals and has the opportunity for different experiences and social interaction.
What we offer:
Music & Movement
We love to bring in local talent from the Texarkana area for our friends. This is a time for them to reminisce and dance along.
Meals & Snacks
We have a light breakfast, a full lunch, and an afternoon snack.
Peace of Mind
It is our mission to provide family caregivers peace of mind knowing your loved one is spending the day in a safe, secure environment engaged in worthwhile activities.
Art & Activities
Art and other creative activities allow our friends to express themselves even when they can't. Our friends are given independence to participate in an activity they enjoy.
Socialization
Socialization fosters meaningful engagement, reduces isolation, and creates moments of joy and companionship.
A Home-like Environment
This setting helps reduce anxiety and confusion, allowing participants to feel more at ease and engaged throughout their day.
Cost
Cost for the program is nominal and includes all programming, meals, interaction, and activities.
Assesment
To meet the admission criteria and to ensure he/she will benefit from the program, each potential friend will be asked to complete a brief assessment that is administered at Alzheimer's Alliance Tri-State.
