The Twice as Fine Texarkana Wine Festival 2026 welcomed thousands from across the Texarkana area for a day of beautiful weather, shopping, live music, and exceptional wine. Beyond the celebration, the event made a meaningful impact—leading to a noticeable increase in calls and walk-ins from families seeking support and education. Many shared they discovered the Alzheimer’s Alliance through the festival and had no idea local Alzheimer’s resources were available in our community.

Funds raised through the festival are vital to sustaining the work of the Alzheimer’s Alliance Tri-State Area and the Our Place Day Respite Center. Simply put, this event makes it possible for us to continue serving families in the impactful way we have for the past 40 years.

The Alzheimer’s Alliance Tri-State Area is dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias through education, resources, training, and respite care. Serving a 22-county region, the Alliance provides essential services including a dementia resource center, Memory Café gatherings, caregiver support groups, and individual counseling. We also offer Project Lifesaver at no cost to families, adding a critical layer of safety and peace of mind for those at risk of wandering.

At the core of our mission is enhancing quality of life for both those living with dementia and their caregivers. One of our most impactful programs, Our Place Day Respite Center, offers structured daytime care in a safe, engaging environment while giving caregivers much-needed rest. The program operates three days a week—Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday—from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The need for these services is significant. More than 17,000 families in our region are affected by Alzheimer’s and related dementias. In Bowie County alone, 17% of the population is over age 65—the group most commonly impacted. Across Bowie, Miller, Cass, and Little River counties, access to quality dementia care is essential for a combined population of 178,820.

Demand continues to grow. The Alzheimer’s Alliance has seen an increase in caregivers seeking support, while Our Place Day Respite Center is nearing full capacity —underscoring the urgent need for accessible respite care.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters and the success of events like the Twice as Fine Texarkana Wine Festival, we are able to meet families where they are and provide critical services. With continued support, we can expand our reach and deepen our impact—ensuring no family has to face Alzheimer’s alone.
